Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated healthcare professional for a night shift position, focusing on pediatric hematology and oncology. This role requires both clinical expertise and compassionate care for our young patients and their families.

Shift Details

• Hours: 7 PM - 7 AM
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend, including holiday rotation
• Float Requirements: May float to the Emergency Department for inpatient holds

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in hematology and oncology
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care strategies
• Coordinate care with other healthcare team members
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Support families through education and emotional support

Qualifications

• Pediatric Experience: Minimum of 24 months required within the last 18 months
• Hematology/Oncology Experience: Required
• EPIC Electronic Medical Systems: Experience within the past 12 months is necessary
• Travel Experience: Must have completed at least one travel contract within the last 18 months
• Licensure: Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license at the time of submission
• Certifications:
  • APHON Certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Driver’s License: Required

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or nurse manager within the last 24 months
