Position: Respiratory Therapist

Specialty:

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Shift Details:

• Shift: Nights, 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM
• Hours per Week: 36
• Holiday Rotation: Yes
• Weekends: Every 3rd weekend, subject to change based on staffing and census

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 24 months of Respiratory care experience in a hospital or medical center setting.
• Experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) is highly preferred.
• Experience with Jet and Servo U equipment is highly preferred.
• All certifications must be active and in hand.
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification is required.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records is required.
• Iowa state license is highly preferred; candidates in the licensing process will be considered.

Profile Requirements:

• Work history or resume must demonstrate 36 months of current RRT/CRT experience in Respiratory Therapy.
• A skills checklist specific to Respiratory Therapy is required.
• Documentation from the Iowa Department of Public Health for Respiratory Care and Polysomnography is highly preferred.
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
• Certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required.
• PALS or NRP certification is required.
