Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Stepdown

Shift Notes:

• 12-hour day shifts with a 36-hour guarantee
• Every other weekend commitment

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Stepdown care to join our team. In this role, you will utilize your clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions, effectively contributing to the recovery and well-being of our patients.

The Stepdown Unit plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality care, handling a diverse patient population including those recovering from cardiology procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers. Our unit also specializes in caring for patients with congestive heart failure and those undergoing electrophysiology studies.

Our dedicated team handles a significant volume of patients annually, emphasizing exceptional patient care and aiming for optimal patient outcomes through a collaborative approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to stepdown patients, ensuring safety and quality of care.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to deliver patient-centered care.
• Engage in ongoing education and skill development to enhance nursing practice.
• Adhere to established policies and protocols while demonstrating professionalism and compassion in all interactions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of Stepdown nursing experience required.
• Proficiency in cardiac care is essential.
• Comfort with EKG interpretation is required.
• Willingness to float to similar units as needed.
• Active nursing license in Michigan is mandatory.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS are required.
