Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to patient care and have a strong background in critical care nursing.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement effective patient care plans aimed at restoring optimal health.
• Provide direct bedside nursing care and execute medical orders as specified.
• Delegate and supervise the work of Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Associates, and other support staff to ensure high-quality care delivery.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and adjust strategies as needed to meet the unique needs of each patient.
• Lead and participate in patient conferences and interdisciplinary team discussions.
• Identify ongoing educational needs for patients and their families, facilitating discharge and transfer planning.
• Pursue professional development opportunities to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
• Mentor and support new employees and students in their professional growth.

Essential Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience.
• Comfortable floating to Emergency Department and Step Down units.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Experience with neuro surgical and open-heart cases is preferred.
• Travel nursing experience is a plus.

Working Conditions

This position guarantees 36 hours per week, with weekend requirements every other week. The dress code for the unit is navy blue scrubs.

Patient Care Ratios

• ICU: 1:2 (1:1 for special populations)
• Step Down: 1:4
• Emergency Department: Similar ratios when caring for patients in holds.
