Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health - Inpatient

Overview

This Registered Nurse position focuses on providing compassionate and professional nursing care within a behavioral health inpatient setting. The role involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to assess and address the care needs of individuals and groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patient care needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Provide and coordinate nursing care for patients, ensuring effective communication and education with families regarding discharge and aftercare planning.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, supporting both individual and group care settings.
• Document, report, and verify all patient information in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Monitor patient safety and report any potential risks to physicians to ensure quality outcomes.
• Create a supportive and customer-friendly atmosphere while adhering to quality improvement standards.
• Deliver care across various clinical settings, accommodating diverse patient populations and implementing patient-centered strategies.
• Function as a clinical leader, delegating tasks and promoting staff development.
• Engage in continuous review of patient care protocols and standards, contributing feedback for process improvements.
• Utilize resources efficiently and support training for direct care staff as needed.
• Model the organization’s mission and values through professionalism, effective communication, and time management skills.
• Support a recovery-focused environment in residential settings, adhering to person-centered approaches.
• Demonstrate commitment to the healing ministry of providing compassionate care that respects diverse backgrounds and beliefs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of behavioral health experience.
• Pediatric nursing experience is required.
• BLS certification is mandatory.
• Active Michigan state nursing license is required.

Work Schedule

This position guarantees 40 hours per week, with a requirement for every other weekend. Opportunities for additional shifts may be available based on department needs.
