Description
Position Overview
This position reports to the Clinical Education Department Manager. The Clinical Staff Educator provides education and instruction focused on clinical staff within the healthcare setting. Acting as a resource for all staff regarding healthcare education and training programs, this role introduces both technical and theoretical concepts in teaching techniques. The Clinical Staff Educator collaborates with department managers and clinical nurse coordinators to support the development of educational programs and is expected to become proficient in simulation training using mannequins and simulation software. Additionally, this position works closely with the Quality Management team to foster continuous improvement throughout the organization.

- Maintain the confidentiality of patient information and handle it appropriately.
- Foster teamwork and cooperation among staff members.

- Demonstrate self-motivation, dependability, and organizational skills.
- Support the organization's mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in required educational programs as applicable to the position.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in nursing. (Experience and national certifications may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree upon approval, with a commitment to obtain a bachelor’s degree within three years of hire.)
- Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing degree.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations
- Required: Current RN license in Oregon. Certifications in Healthcare Provider CPR, CNOR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Preferred: Not applicable.
Experience
- Required: Minimum of five years of hospital nursing experience, with at least three years of operating room experience. Proficient computer skills, including word processing and internet usage.
- Preferred: Experience in teaching others, course development, teaching theories, and simulation training.
Other Requirements
- Understanding of basic computer network functions and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with fax machines and copiers, with the ability to type a minimum speed of 45 WPM accurately.
- Strong command of English, including punctuation, spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills.
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems is helpful.
- Ability to provide care considering the age, cultural, physical, and psychosocial aspects of patients.
- Capability to write educational objectives for healthcare employees.
Shift Information
Day shift position with holiday coverage required.
