Description
Position Title: XR/CT Technologist - Weekend Nights
We are seeking an experienced XR/CT Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging Department on weekend nights. This traveler position involves independent coverage of both X-Ray and CT modalities in a rural hospital setting.
Assignment Details
- Start Date: June 22 or June 29
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- Shift: 7:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Department: Diagnostic Imaging
Position Summary
The XR/CT Technologist will perform diagnostic radiographic and CT imaging procedures to assist in diagnosing diseases and injuries. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality imaging services while ensuring patient safety and collaborating effectively with healthcare providers, radiologists, patients, and families.
Required Qualifications
- Current ARRT Radiography registry
- Current ARRT CT registry
- Current AHA BLS certification for healthcare providers
- Experience performing both X-Ray and CT examinations
- Ability to work independently during weekend night shifts
- Basic computer skills, including experience with electronic health records
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient care skills
- Three or more years of clinical imaging experience
- Cerner experience required
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a rural hospital or critical access hospital
- Experience in emergency imaging
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform quality X-Ray and CT imaging utilizing appropriate positioning, technique, and protocols
- Independently cover both XR and CT modalities during shifts
- Review provider orders for appropriateness and communicate effectively with providers as necessary
- Administer contrast media in accordance with site-specific protocols
- Complete required documentation related to CT contrast consent when applicable
- Evaluate images for technical quality and proper documentation in the electronic health record
- Communicate effectively with radiologists, providers, patients, and team members
- Adhere to radiation safety practices and utilize appropriate protective equipment
- Transport and assist patients safely, using wheelchairs, stretchers, and hospital beds as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all hospital policies and procedures
- Assist providers, other departments, and hospital staff as needed
Work Environment
This position is performed in a hospital setting, which may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, communicable diseases, radiation, chemicals, and potential hazards commonly associated with patient care procedures.
