Position: CT Technologist

Location: Rockford, IL

Shift Information:

• Work Schedule: 40 hours/week
• Shifts: 4 - 10-hour shifts (1200-2230 or 1000-2130)
• Weekend, On-Call, and Holiday Rotation Required

Minimum Experience:

2 years of experience required.

Certifications/Requirements:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• ARRT Radiography (ARRT(R)) Certification
• ARRT Computed Tomography (ARRT(CT)) Certification
• IEMA-DNS Radiography Accreditation

Job Description:

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing computed tomography procedures and related techniques, administering x-radiation to create diagnostic images for physician interpretation. This role entails alternating shifts, weekends, holidays, and being part of call rotations as necessary to ensure quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic CT procedures as required.
• If assigned additional radiographer duties, conduct radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical, and portable exams.
• Corroborate the patient's clinical history with the procedure, ensuring documentation is accurate and accessible for the radiologist.
• Prepare patients for procedures by providing clear instructions to achieve desired results and minimize anxiety.
• Select and operate imaging equipment and image capture devices to successfully conduct procedures.
• Position patients effectively to demonstrate the area of interest, while considering their comfort and ability; immobilize when necessary.
• Practice appropriate aseptic techniques during procedures.
• Prepare and administer contrast media as needed; start and maintain intravenous access.
• Initiate basic life support when required.
• Provide patient education regarding procedures and expectations.
• Contribute to supply and equipment decision-making; maintain inventory control in the assigned area.
• Offer practical instruction for students and assist partners as needed.
• Observe universal protocol, standard precautions, and confirm appropriate patient identifiers.
• Ensure patient safety throughout all procedures, including during transport.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Must be a graduate of an accredited radiography program with education verification required. A minimum of 2 years of CT experience is mandatory.

Certification and Licensure Requirements:

• ARRT Radiography registration is required.
• ARRT Computed Tomography registration is required.
• IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation is mandatory.
• Approved CPR or BLS certification is required.
