Position Overview

This position is primarily within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and may require floating to the Emergency Department (ED), Medical/Surgical unit, or Pediatrics based on census needs. The role involves providing nursing care to critically ill patients across various age groups and supporting their families. Registered Nurses in this position perform a range of responsible nursing procedures that necessitate professional knowledge, the ability to work independently, and considerations for specific patient conditions and treatments. Adherence to doctors' orders, standards of care, and hospital policies is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive inpatient care to adults and pediatric patients in the ICU.
• Conduct after-hours recovery for post-operative general surgery, pediatric, and obstetric patients as required.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, reporting any changes to the medical team promptly.
• Provide emotional support to patients' families during critical situations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation according to hospital protocols.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of ICU experience required.
• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Licensure: Must possess a current unrestricted Professional Nursing License (RN) valid in any state of the United States, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association (must be completed within six months of hire).
  • Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) certification (must be completed within six months of hire).
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (must be completed within six months of hire).

Working Conditions

All shifts are available, and holiday coverage is required.
