Description
Job Description
This position is for an ICU Float Nurse who will cover various units including Medical, Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), and Intermediate Care (IMC). The role will accommodate a 48-hour contract as needed.
Unit Information
The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) consists of 32 beds, licensed for Neuro Critical Care patients. The unit is distributed across two floors and boasts a majority of shifts with adequate staffing levels.
Expected Patient Ratios
- 1:2 for typical cases
- 1:1 for higher acuity situations
Common Cases Encountered
- Sepsis
- End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
- Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) requiring CRRT/CVVH
- Post-cardiac arrest care
- Respiratory failure
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting
- Preferred 1 year of experience in a Level 1 ICU, or 2 years in a MICU setting
Certifications Required
- NIHSS
- BLS
- ACLS (Both through the American Heart Association)
Shift Information
Full-time position with 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Holiday Coverage
Holiday coverage is mandatory for this position.
Additional Information
We are seeking strong ICU nurses with robust clinical backgrounds. Candidates with only 1 year of experience as new graduates may not meet the requirements for this unit.
