Description
The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative and cooperative relationship with other members of the health care team, planning and implementing patient and family education. This role is responsible for assessing patient needs and initiating appropriate interventions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse)
- American Heart Association BLS Certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider certification required (NRP recertification required every 2 years)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring Series Certificate of Completion (or equivalent AWHONN approved course) (Not required if a Lactation RN) (FHM recertification required every 2 years)
- American Heart Association ACLS certification (Not required if a Lactation RN)
- Competence in and a willingness to practice modified primary nursing
- Two hours of initial cerebrovascular disease (stroke) education
- If Lactation RN: Certification in lactation consulting/counseling (CLC, IBCLC)
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of labor and delivery experience

- Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
- Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
- Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation.
- Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
- Implement the identified plan of care.
- Employ strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Systematically enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
- Maintain knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice.
- Evaluate one’s own nursing practice in relation to professional standards and guidelines.

Schedule Requirements:
This role requires regular and sustained attendance. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational and patient needs.

- Climbing (Rarely): Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like using feet and legs; may also use hands and arms.
- Twisting/Bending/Stooping/Kneeling (Repeatedly): Requires flexibility and a wide range of motion in the spine and joints.
- Reaching Above Shoulder Level (Repeatedly): Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects as necessary above shoulder level.
- Pushing/Pulling (Repeatedly): Using upper extremities to exert force against something with steady force.
- Fine Finger Movements (Continuously): Working primarily with fingers for tasks such as typing and handling.
- Vision (Continuously): Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and to read information.
