Job Description

The Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care in an outpatient clinic setting, supporting individuals and families across the continuum of care. This role utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care; administer medications and treatments; perform clinical procedures; and provide patient education and care coordination in collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Implement and evaluate nursing interventions and monitor patient responses.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to provider orders and policy.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions or escalate care as needed.
• Provide patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs.
• Deliver culturally responsive, patient-centered care.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Facilitate referrals, follow-up care, and continuity of services.
• Participate in quality and performance improvement activities.
• Support orientation, mentoring, and education of staff, students, and peers.

Qualifications

• Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of two years of OB Case Management experience required.
• Case Management certification preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Work Environment

The Ambulatory RN operates in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment. This position does not offer housing or transportation; candidates are responsible for securing their own accommodations and travel arrangements.
