Description
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This position will focus on providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment and will require collaboration with an interprofessional team.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patient recovery from anesthesia.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Provide effective pain management interventions.
- Communicate patient progress to the healthcare team.
- Support patients and their families preoperatively and postoperatively.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using Epic.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Alaska.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in a pediatric setting.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- Ability to float to similar units as needed.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Schedule and Commitment
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3x12 Hour Day Shifts, variable start times include 0700, 0800, 0900, 1000, and 1100.
- On-call requirements include at least one call shift per week, primarily overnight shifts.
- Weekend on-call responsibilities are also required.
Additional Information
- This position offers guaranteed hours of 60 every two weeks, with the potential for call-off from one 12-hour shift per two weeks.
- Parking is provided free of charge.
- Scrub colors are provided by the facility.
