Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a qualified Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced surgical environment and be comfortable working across multiple service lines.

Shift Details

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, working 3 shifts of 12 hours (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM).
• Weekend Requirement: Every 4th weekend, with potential to be on call for up to 3 weekends within a 13-week contract.
• On Call: Up to 1 overnight call shift per week and rotation for weekends as per requirements.
• Holiday: Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day).

Job Responsibilities

The Operating Room RN will be responsible for:

• Providing direct patient care in the operating room.
• Assisting in the coordination of surgical services and effective patient flow.
• Maintaining aseptic techniques and a safe operating environment.
• Collaborating with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Operating specialized equipment and technologies, including DaVinci robots and Stealth neuro-navigation.
• Documenting patient care and surgical procedures in the electronic medical record (EPIC).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 24 months of current operating room experience is required.
• Experience in circulating and scrubbing procedures is preferred.
• Proven experience with general surgery, pediatrics, trauma, and DaVinci robotics is required.
• Additional experience in neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, and ENT is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with trauma care, specifically Level I or II trauma care, is preferred.
• Must have EPIC electronic medical record experience within the last three years.
• Active Iowa state license or compact/multistate license is required at the time of application.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
• Must have completed a previous travel assignment within the last 15 months.
