Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This position requires expertise in both Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures. The successful candidate will provide specialized care to patients requiring cardiovascular interventions and diagnostic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform interventional cardiac catheterizations and assist with a variety of special procedures.
• Provide care for patients undergoing diagnostic catheterizations, cardiac stent placements, and pulmonary interventions.
• Administer medications and monitor patients during procedural sedation.
• Conduct vital sign assessments and interpret dysrhythmias.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cath Lab setting is required. Candidates with IR only experience will not be considered.
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement.
• Active certifications in ACLS and BLS are required.
• Experience with Epic software is preferred.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 4 - 10 hour days per week (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM).
• Average 8-10 call shifts per month, including 1-2 weekends depending on the schedule.
• Limit requests for time off (RTO) to approximately 1 week.

Patient Population

Patients include those with cardiac issues requiring catheterization or intervention and individuals in need of various IR procedures such as drains and biopsy.

Skills Required

• Comprehensive knowledge of interventional procedures, including IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, and various catheterizations.
• Experience with central venous access, dialysis graft creation/revision, and classification of emergency medications.
• Proficiency in infection prevention and procedural standard precautions.
