About This Role
As an Echocardiographer, you will perform high-quality diagnostic echocardiography studies for inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and surgical patients. Your expertise will be essential in obtaining diagnostic cardiac ultrasound images and measurements that aid in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular disease. This role demands independent judgment, strong technical skills, and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms, limited studies, contrast studies, and bubble studies in line with departmental protocols and professional standards.
- Produce accurate cardiac measurements and diagnostic-quality images for cardiologist interpretation, ensuring patient safety and comfort during examinations.
- Utilize clinical judgment to evaluate patient history, optimize imaging quality, recognize significant abnormalities, and communicate urgent findings when necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support efficient patient care across various settings.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography, Echocardiography, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI required.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Minimum one year of echocardiography experience required.
- Travel experience required.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, pathology, Doppler principles, and echocardiographic imaging techniques.

Important Information
This position is located in a rural area, approximately two hours from the nearest major airport. Public transportation is not readily available, thus a dependable personal vehicle is required for the duration of the assignment. Housing is not provided; however, local housing resources can be offered as a courtesy.
Shift Information
Monday to Friday, four 8-hour day shifts per week. Holiday coverage may be required.
