We are seeking a dedicated and skilled PCU Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in a Stepdown unit. The ideal candidate will possess critical care experience and be adaptable to various patient needs.

Shift Information

Nights: 1900-0730

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience, with preference given to candidates with both ICU and PCU experience.

Certifications/Requirements

• BLS/BCLS Certification
• ACLS Certification

Unit Information

This role requires floating to different areas as needed. Typical diagnoses and procedures include:

• Surgical cases of all types
• Medical cases of all types
• Neurological patients

Common Equipment

• Bladder scanners
• IV pumps
• PCA pumps
• SCDs
• BiPAP and CPAP machines
• Optiflow and Vapotherm
• AirVo devices

Responsibilities

Nurses in this position will be responsible for:

• Titration of vasoactive drips, including Neosynephrine, Amiodarone, and Cardizem among others.
• Line management skills:
  • IV insertion
  • PICC and central line management
  • Vascular device access and care
  • Dialysis fistula care and management
  • A-line management
• Preferred skills: CVP monitoring, obtaining 12 lead EKGs, sheath removal, and cardioversion/defibrillation.
• Airway management: CPAP/BiPAP and tracheostomy care.
• Management of epidural and PCA pumps, feeding tubes, and wound vacs in orthopedic, medical/surgical, and oncology cases.
