Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This role involves planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patient needs, while also advocating for evidence-based practice care standards. The RN will provide patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice models.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and assist physicians with patient care tasks.
• Plan, implement, and document nursing care tailored to patient needs.
• Identify patient needs and establish priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized care plans based on initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiate assessments driven by patient problems or needs, alongside the physician’s medical diagnosis.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions.
• Manage the comprehensive care of patients.
• Document care procedures adhering to standards of care, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for and support the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of recent telemetry experience is required.

Required Education

• ASN from an accredited school of nursing is required.

Preferred Education

• BSN.
• Telemetry Certification or Telemetry Competency Exam is required.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• BLS (AHA).
• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• NIHSS Certification.
• Telemetry Certification.
• CEU Contact Stroke - 4 Hours.

Languages

• English: Read, Write, Speak.

Schedule Notes

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
• Holiday Requirement: One winter holiday, one Eve.
• Possible floating to other inpatient telemetry units may be required.

Hard Skills

• Telemetry.
• Non-titratable drips.
• Cardiac rhythms.

Soft Skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role.
