Job Description

This position involves performing a wide variety of technical procedures in both X-ray and mammography, requiring independent judgment and ingenuity. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the initiative to apply appropriate skills to facilitate accurate diagnoses while adhering to departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct X-ray and mammography procedures effectively and efficiently.
• Assume independent responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Technologist or Operations Manager.
• Ensure proper care and confidentiality of patients in accordance with established policies.
• Maintain and demonstrate proficiency in using PACS, HIS, and RIS computer systems.
• Operate and troubleshoot CR, DR, and PACS applications.
• Participate in mandatory annual education sessions, including topics such as infection control and blood borne pathogens.
• Maintain department competencies and uphold infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in X-ray.
• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in mammography.
• ARRT (R) Certification required.
• ARRT (M) Certification required.
• A valid Massachusetts Radiology license or application pending is required.
• Active American Heart Association BLS Certification required.
• Knowledge of Meditech Expanse is highly preferred.
• Must possess strong patient care skills.
• Must be willing to work weekends and evenings as needed.
• Must have reliable transportation.
