Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patient needs.
• Identifying patient needs and determining care priorities through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Developing, implementing, and coordinating individualized plans of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiating assessments based on patient problems, physician diagnoses, and the functional health framework.
• Performing therapeutic nursing interventions and managing patient care.
• Documenting care according to standards of care, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocating for evidence-based practice care standards and supporting the adoption of innovations in care delivery.
• Providing patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
• Completing additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Telemetry experience.
• Experience with chest tube management and stroke patients.
• Able to manage up to 6 patients.

Education & Certifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Telemetry Certification or successful completion of the Telemetry Competency Exam is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA is essential.
• Current New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license is required.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification is necessary.
• Telemetry certification and continuing education units (CEUs) for stroke are required.

Schedule Information

• Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: As needed
• Holiday Requirement: Yes
• Float Requirement: Yes

Required Skills

• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
