ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care by collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal health outcomes for patients.

Job Description

As an ICU Registered Nurse, you will provide direct bedside care, implement medical orders, and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans. You will also assume a leadership role, guiding and mentoring nursing staff and delegating tasks to ensure efficient and safe patient care.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Integrate evidence-based knowledge into nursing practice.
• Delegate and coordinate tasks and assignments related to patient care.
• Facilitate and participate in patient conferences for care planning.
• Identify and meet ongoing patient education needs, including discharge and transfer planning.
• Engage in professional growth through educational opportunities.
• Teach and guide both professional and ancillary personnel.
• Precept and mentor new employees and students, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Function as a team leader to ensure proper patient placement and delegation of assignments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of ICU experience (required)
• Comfortable floating to the Emergency Department and Step Down unit (required)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required)
• Additional certifications such as TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, or SCRN are preferred.
• Experience with travel nursing is preferred.
• Neuro surgical and open heart experience are also preferred.

Additional Information

This position has a guaranteed 48 hours per week, with 12-hour day shifts. Weekend requirements include working at least two weekends per month. Attendance is strictly monitored, with a three-strike policy in place to promote reliable staffing. Extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis with appropriate documentation.
