Job Overview

This position is for a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse specializing in Neuro. The nurse will be part of a dynamic team, providing comprehensive care to patients with neurosurgical procedures and neurological diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care on a Neuro unit.
• Manage patient assignments with ratios of 1:5-6.
• Participate in a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events or mass casualties as required.
• Float to other units as needed based on the demands of the department.
• Complete 12-16 weekend shifts as per contract requirements.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
• Neuro experience preferred
• First-time travelers are accepted

Shift Details

This role operates on a 12-hour night shift from 18:45 to 07:15. Contracts are available for either 36 or 48 hours per week, with options for longer commitments ranging from 13 to 26 weeks.

Unit Systems

Experience with Pyxis, SBAR, and EPIC systems is essential for documentation and communication within the unit.

Orientation

New hires will undergo two orientation shifts at the unit following the hospital-based orientation.

Attire

Scrubs will be navy blue in color.

Testing Requirements

Candidates must pass an EKG test prior to starting in this specialty.
