Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med Surg/Telemetry is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients within a clinical environment. The position includes the following key responsibilities:

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients, ensuring their needs are met effectively.
• Participate in patient and family teaching to promote understanding and adherence to care plans.
• Provide leadership by collaborating with ancillary nursing staff and other team members to uphold professional nursing practice standards.
• May serve as a backup Charge Nurse as required.

Shift Requirements

• 12-hour night shifts with a 36-hour weekly guarantee.
• Every other weekend and holidays as needed.
• Available for on-call duties as required.

Patient Care Details

• Utilizes Cerner for electronic medical records.
• Maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5.
• Average daily patient census of approximately 22.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Med Surg and Rehabilitation.
• Previous travel nursing experience of at least 3 months.
• Charge Nurse experience is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Must have a valid Vermont RN License or a compact license.
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association are required.
• Candidate must have their own vehicle, as public transportation is not available in the area.

Other Requirements

• All requested time off (RTO) during the assignment must be noted at the time of application; changes after submission will not be accepted.
• Must work designated holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
• Must be willing to float between units within the scope of practice.
