Registered Nurse ER (Adult)

Scheduling Details and Charting

• Shift Hours: 7a-7p/11a-11p
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Charting: EPIC experience required
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
• Call Off Policy: Up to three shifts may be canceled during a 13-week contract period
• First-Time Travelers: Accepting
• Local Staff: RN's within 75 miles are not accepted, but locals may be accepted for LPN positions

Required License/Certifications

• Must have an active New York Single State RN license (NY is not Compact)
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS - Valid NIHSS certification required

Required Clinical Skills

• IV therapy (blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, starting/maintaining IVs); IV vasopressors
• CPAP/BiPAP; Ventilator management
• Assessment and management of CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI
• Cardiac monitoring (interpretation and management of dysrhythmias)
• Emergency care for adult and pediatric patients, including trauma cases
• Isolation precautions; Triage; Pediatric spinal cord injury

Unit Details and Floating

• Patient Ratios: 1:5 for adults and geriatrics with a variety of emergency diagnoses
• Special Equipment: Bair hugger, rapid infuser, safe patient handling equipment
• Floating: Will be required to float within skillset
• Scrub Color: Any combination of navy blue and white
