Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our team. The ER RN will work primarily from 3 PM to 3 AM, providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. With a focus on patient care and safety, RNs will work closely with a diverse patient population, including both adults and pediatrics.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients in the emergency department, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of a variety of medical conditions.
• Administer medications and perform procedures as required, including blood product administration and procedural sedation.
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and interpret dysrhythmias effectively.
• Demonstrate competency in phlebotomy and IV placement, meeting mandatory skill requirements.
• Utilize critical thinking and decision-making skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide effective patient-centered care.
• Participate in required float assignments when census warrants, including every other weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an emergency department setting.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS.
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion.
• Ability to manage continuous IV sedation and paralytics.
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Additional Information

This position requires minimal requested time off (RTO) and is not open to local candidates from within a 75-mile radius. Please note that pending licenses are not accepted. The facility aims to accommodate block scheduling but cannot guarantee it.

Work Environment

The ER RN will work with a patient ratio of 1:5, managing mixed and shared acuity levels. RNs are expected to maintain a high standard of professional integrity while ensuring the safety and comfort of patients.
