Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our team. This position requires proficiency in various emergency nursing skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Schedule

• 7a / 11a alternating shifts
• Day shift: 3x12-Hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00 or 11:00 - 23:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Block schedule accommodations will be considered but are not guaranteed

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of ER nursing experience required
• First-time candidates are welcome to apply

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Job Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting
• Perform phlebotomy and initiate IV access as required
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and dysrhythmias
• Administer blood products and emergency medications
• Care for central lines and manage IVs, including continuous paralytics and sedation
• Carry out procedural sedation and isolation precautions effectively
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Float to other areas as needed based on census

Required Skills

• General emergency department experience with both adult and pediatric patients
• Proficiency in managing CVAs (Cerebrovascular Accidents)
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and infection control

Additional Information

Epic charting experience is preferred. RNs will be expected to demonstrate competency in all required skills, including phlebotomy and IV placements. A minimal restriction on time off (RTO) is preferred.
