Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevents illness and injury, and alleviates suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN advocates for individuals and families during their care. This role involves adherence to all professional standards and development in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and relevant policies and ethics. Job Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients, serving as the primary or accountable nurse as designated by unit assignment.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management using available resources.
• Utilize pharmacological knowledge to safely administer medications according to established policies.
• Share responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing and time management.
• Comply with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
• Actively participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model, supporting unit councils and improvement initiatives.
• Engage in professional development and complete all mandatory education requirements.
• Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
• Perform additional duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.

Education

• Required Education: Associate's degree from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse License (New York State).
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Unit-specific requirements are listed in the Compliance Matrix.

Preferred Certifications & Licensure

• Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
