Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical Telemetry. The role involves providing high-quality patient care on a 40-bed medical-surgical unit with a focus on bariatrics and orthopedics.

Contract Details

• Contracts available for 16 weeks or longer, accepting applications through February 27, 2027.
• Shift: 4 x 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15)
• Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends every 6 weeks.
• Daily patient census is approximately 39.
• Float requirement may apply based on unit needs.

Patient Population

The patient demographic includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, requiring dedicated care across various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary customer service and compassionate patient care.
• Form collegial relationships with physicians and healthcare staff.
• Maintain compliance with hand hygiene standards (minimum of 75%).
• Document patient care accurately and timely using electronic systems.

Required Skills and Certifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Telemetry experience required.
• Certifications: BCLS, NIH, IV Start, Telemetry.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• Certification in ACLS is preferred.

Unit Information

The unit utilizes a variety of systems including PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR, and Voalte. Orientation for new staff will consist of 36 hours, and participants must be available for the entire week during the orientation period.

Uniform Requirements

Scrubs are not provided; staff may wear navy or white scrubs or a combination thereof.
