Job Description
The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse utilizes clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. The RN plays a vital role in the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), which serves over 4000 cardiology patients annually. This includes procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers. The CVU also specializes in the care of patients recovering from open heart surgery and patients with congestive heart failure and those undergoing electrophysiology studies.
The CVU has achieved a Silver level Beacon Award and was recognized as a Top 50 Heart Hospital in the U.S. This recognition reflects the commitment to optimal patient outcomes and exceptional care provided by our dedicated nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to cardiovascular patients.
- Utilize clinical skills to monitor and assess patient conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
- Float to similar units as needed to support patient care.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of Stepdown experience.
- Proficiency in Cardiac care.
- Comfortable interpreting EKGs.
- Willingness to travel and adapt to various locations as necessary.
Certifications
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current BLS certification.
License Requirements
Must possess a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Michigan.
This position may require a commitment to a flexible schedule, including alternating weekend availability. Attendance is critically monitored to ensure consistent patient care, adhering to an established attendance policy.
