Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room

Location: Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts
Facility: Martha’s Vineyard Hospital (Mass General Brigham)
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse in Emergency Room
• Schedule: Rotating 36-hour shifts
• Variable start dates available: 9/29, 10/13, 11/3
• Shared housing provided (no pets, no guests allowed)
• Must bring own transportation
• Current flu vaccine required

Required Credentials & Compliance

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid professional nursing license with primary source verification (NURSYS and Board of Nursing required)
• BLS certification (AHA preferred; Red Cross accepted)
• Current fit test for N95 respirator (within 365 days) using MGB form; no religious exemptions
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30) with no exemptions
• TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test)
• MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
• Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days
• Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI, national sex offender registry, exclusion checks, and SSN trace
• Resume with last 7 years of work experience including city and state
• Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above)
• Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required for submission

Additional Health & Compliance Requirements

• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation (part of fit test record)
• MGB Massachusetts CORI and criminal background checks must be updated if there is a break in service longer than 6 months
• MGB Education Verification (highest level of education verified)
• MGB Confirmation of Assignment/POI form required upon acceptance and for extensions
• MGB MVH Housing Agreement required if moving into shared housing

Optional but Preferred

• Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity (or declination)
• Tdap vaccine within last 10 years
• Positive PPD requires negative chest x-ray documentation and TB symptom survey

Important Notes

• MA Conditional Licenses are not accepted
• Fit testing cannot be done onsite initially; updates can be done on Martha’s Vineyard if assignment is extended
• No religious or medical exemptions for flu vaccine or fit testing
• Housing is shared with strict no pets and no guest policy

This position is ideal for RNs with ER experience who are ready for a 16-week assignment in a hospital setting on Martha’s Vineyard with rotating shifts and shared housing.
