Position Details

Unit Information
- Unit: ICU / PCU (Burn ICU, Trauma ICU)
- Number of Beds: 30
- Number of Staff: 85
- Shifts:
- Day Shift: 1 CNC/Relief Charge; RN and PCT numbers vary based on census
- Night Shift: 1 CNC/Relief Charge; RN and PCT numbers vary based on census
- Patient Ratios:
- ICU: 2:1
- PCU: 4:1
- Equipment: Critical Care Equipment, Burn ICU and Trauma ICU Technology
- EMR System: Meditech
Required Skills and Experience
- Must Have:
- Trauma ICU experience
- Burn ICU experience
- Surgical ICU experience
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Preferred:
- BSN degree
- CCRN certification
Typical Procedures Performed
- Wound care
- Codes (emergency response)
- EVDs (External Ventricular Drains)
- MTP (Massive Transfusion Protocol)
Certifications Required
- RN License (Registered Nurse)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Certification
Floating Areas
- MSICU (Medical-Surgical ICU)
- CVICU (Cardiovascular ICU)
- Neuro ICU
- Any PCU unit
Work Environment and Culture
- Team-based unit
- Encourages asking questions and helping others
- Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs
- Unit requires working 2 weekends per pay period
- On-call requirements may apply
