Travel RN - Telemetry Unit

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry


Unit Information

  • Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Med Surg
  • Number of Beds: 14
  • Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 4 patients
  • Staffing:
    • Day Shift example: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
    • Night Shift staffing varies
    • Unit secretaries and patient care technicians (PCTs) available
  • Equipment: Chest tubes, IV pumps, various drains
  • EMR System: Meditech
  • Scheduling: Every other weekend required
  • Floating: Must be available to float to other units
  • Patient Experience: Emphasis on positive attitude, patient-centered care, critical thinking, teamwork, and engagement

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIH Certification
  • Registered Nurse License

Skills and Experience

  • Must have:
    • Knowledge of medication drips
    • Experience with central lines
    • Heart catheterization recovery care
  • Not considered: Advanced skills beyond the above are not required for this role
  • Preferred: Candidates with the above skills will be prioritized

Procedures

  • No invasive procedures performed on this unit
