Job Opportunity: Med/Surge Tele - Neurosciences Unit

Location: Springfield, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long Term


Department Overview

  • Acute neuroscience department with 37 beds
  • Specializes in neurological conditions including:
    • Stroke (main focus)
    • Spinal cord injuries
    • Brain injuries
    • Seizures
    • Spinal/brain lesions
    • Spinal epidural abscess
    • Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
    • Brain and spinal surgeries
    • Multiple sclerosis (MS)

Unit Details

  • Unit size: 37 beds
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
  • Positive workplace culture emphasizing teamwork

Requirements

  • Preferred experience: 2 years in relevant specialty
  • Required certifications:
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – must be renewed yearly
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Contract Length

  • 14 weeks (interpreted as weeks based on value)
