Description

Radiologic Technologist – CT (Travel/Contract)

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Day/Evening shifts, 8 hours each
  • Primarily first shift with start times between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM
  • Weekend rotation and associated call required
  • May be assigned other shifts based on operational needs
  • Work at a minimum of two locations within the organization
  • Floating required; may be scheduled in multiple units or locations depending on staffing needs

Experience & Education Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years clinical CT imaging experience
  • Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology (minimum)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred

Licensure & Certifications

  • Wisconsin State Licensed Radiographer required
  • ARRT Registries of Radiography (R) AND (CT) required
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications may be required depending on unit
  • National certification verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration
  • Facility requires renewal plans for certifications to be finalized by the 15th of the month prior to expiration
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement and Pass/Fail Testing (as applicable) required

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and advanced CT imaging procedures using radiographic equipment, computers, and detectors
  • Prepare imaging rooms according to examination requirements, including isolation precautions
  • Provide basic maintenance and repairs on equipment
  • Participate in quality assurance activities
  • Troubleshoot image processing and archiving system issues
  • Collaborate with staff to prioritize and organize schedules and triage procedures

  • Primary work site: University Hospital, Madison, WI
  • Magnet®-designated facility, ranked Wisconsin’s #1 hospital
  • Parking permit required for onsite parking; alternative transportation options available
  • Traveler’s permanent address must be within 50 miles of primary work site

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks within 90 days prior to start, including SSN trace, county, nationwide, and sex offender searches
  • Monthly monitoring through workforce monitoring systems (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
  • Education verification or acceptable diploma/transcript required
  • Wisconsin Caregiver Screening required within 90 days of start
  • Drug screening required for clinical candidates (standard 9-panel)
  • Physical exam (Aya standard) and fit mask completed onsite
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination proof
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or titers, with medical/religious exemptions accepted
    • Varicella vaccination or titer, with exemptions accepted
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination form
    • Flu seasonal vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
    • Meningococcal vaccine or declination (for certain departments)
  • Facility-specific forms such as BID form (Wisconsin state mandated), communicable disease form, and photo for badge required
  • Telemetry testing and competency exams as applicable to specialty and unit

Additional Notes

  • Travelers are first to float and may be reassigned to other departments if primary department needs change
  • Strict deadlines for certification renewals and testing completion apply
  • Facility requires signed acknowledgments for safety manuals and pass/fail testing where applicable
  • Photo for badge must meet specific criteria (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
