Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery)

Location: Marion, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Labor and Delivery RN
  • Shift: Night shift
  • Hours: Prefer 48 hours per week, but 36 hours per week is acceptable
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Experience: Minimum 2+ years
  • License: Active Indiana or Compact RN license required
  • Previous travel experience preferred

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA only (Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable). Required for all RNs.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA only. Required for critical care, ER, telemetry, respiratory, and float positions; preferred for others.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): AHA only. Required for pediatrics, ER, and RRTs.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for nursery, NICU, family birthing, respiratory, and RRTs.
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): AWHONN certification required for Labor & Delivery (intermediate or advanced acceptable).

Required Documents and Checks

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Criminal Background Check (7-year search including SSN trace, counties, national criminal, and sex offender registry) completed within 30 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (must be done annually)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask test (respirator fit test) within 3 months of start and annually thereafter
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within the past 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Qgold, or T-spot) within 3 months of start or clear chest X-ray if previously positive
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (titer or declination; vaccination alone not accepted)
  • Drug screening (5-panel or more) within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct-April), with religious or medical exemptions accepted

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references within 3 years
  • Annual skills checklist
  • Completion of facility-specific annual mandatory training (approx. 40 minutes online)
  • Review of facility dress code and IT access forms

Notes

  • Facility mandates annual completion of background checks and certifications as applicable.
  • Fit mask testing must be completed prior to start or on the first day as a last resort.
  • Flu vaccination is mandatory during flu season unless exemption is approved.

This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs with required certifications and licensure who are ready to start a 13-week travel assignment on night shift in Indiana.
