Description
Neuro ICU RN - Night Shifts (Travel Assignment)
Location: Lynchburg, VA
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 12-hour night shifts
Schedule: Expected 2-3 weekends per month
Job Details
- Position is for a Neuro ICU Registered Nurse covering surgical and medical neuro diagnoses.
- Teaching hospital environment with frequent interaction and support of students and new hires.
- Travelers will float first as needed.
- One assignment only, no renewals.
- Client may cancel up to 3 shifts during the assignment due to census fluctuations.
Requirements
- Prior travel experience required.
- Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience.
- Teaching hospital experience preferred.
- Charge nurse experience preferred.
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- COVID and flu vaccination or approved declination required.
- No local travelers within 60 miles accepted.
Equipment and Skills
Familiarity with and ability to use the following equipment is expected:
- Vital signs machine
- Glucometer
- Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs)
- Bladder scanner
- Vein finder
- Remote telemetry
- Wound vacs
- IV pumps
- Pulse oximeters
- Chest tubes
- Tube feeding pumps (Kangaroo)
- Oxygen delivery devices
Additional Notes
- All return-to-office (RTO) requests must be submitted and approved prior to assignment acceptance.
- Position is IV-certified (IVS).
- Prior travel is required for all positions with this hospital system.
- Emphasis on contributing to a supportive team culture, especially when working with students and new hires.
