• Unit: 6th Floor, Front Telemetry, Med Surg, Trauma
• Number of Beds: 33
• Number of Staff: 55
• Shift Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, Unit Secretary, 7-8 RNs, 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, Unit Secretary, 7-8 RNs, 2 PCTs
• Patient Ratios: 5 to 6 patients per nurse
• Typical Procedures:

  • Small Incision & Drainage (I&D)
  • Peritoneal Dialysis
  • Thoracentesis (infrequent)
• Equipment Used:

  • EKG machines
  • Code cart
  • Welch Allyn vital signs machines
  • Vascular Doppler
  • Wound vacs
  • Cultura Link interpreting services
  • Carescape monitors for rhythm monitoring during push medications (e.g., metoprolol)
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Requirements

• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Skills: Must pass Basic Rhythm test
• Preferred Experience: Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Personality Fit: High energy, positive attitude
