Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery)

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Labor & Delivery RN
• Start: ASAP
• Shift Options: 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts
• Shift Time: Night shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Call Requirement: 24 hours over a 6-week period (must be onsite within 45 minutes)
• Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and holidays required
• Float Requirement: Must float to like units (e.g., Mom/Baby)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years high-risk Labor & Delivery experience required
• Travel Experience: Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment

Required Certifications

• C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) through NCC certification (or AWHONN as placeholder with registration for C-EFM course)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• STABLE
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• BLS (Basic Life Support, AHA or ARC)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid State License prior to start
• Background Check within 90 days including criminal, SSN trace, federal and state searches
• E-Verify attestation
• Drug Screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Physical Exam (annual, signed by MD/PA/NP/DO)
• Immunizations and Titers:

  • Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual updates required)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Varicella documentation or positive titer
• Flu Vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended; declination requires mask use during patient encounters

Competency Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (within 3 years, minimum 80% score)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for applicable units, annual update required, minimum 80% overall and 100% lethal rhythms section)
• Color Blind Testing (online or in-person)
• Competency Exam (within 3 years, minimum 80% score)

Additional Requirements

• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
• Skills checklist completed prior to start and updated annually
• Photo for badge (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
• Completion of facility-specific modules prior to start

Work Environment & Expectations

• Must be able to work night shifts and float to related units
• Call coverage onsite within 45 minutes when required
• Must comply with all facility-specific policies and training requirements
