Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Requirements

  • Licensure: Must apply for Allied Health licensure within 72 hours of signing.
  • Certification:
    • CT Certification (ARRT (CT)) required.
    • BLS (AHA only, RQI accepted) required.
    • ACLS required for certain specialties (verify unit requirements).
  • Experience:
    • Must have experience in ED, Inpatient, and Outpatient settings.
    • Candidate expected to float between ED, main campus, outpatient, and nearby clinics.
  • Systems:
    • Epic experience required.
    • GE equipment experience required.
  • Schedule:
    • 4x10 hour shifts.
    • Must work holidays if scheduled.
  • Travelers:
    • Unit does not accept first-time travelers.

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Identification: Current/valid Driver’s License or government photo ID (color copy).
  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually.
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
    • Sex Offender Search required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
  • Education Verification: Required if no state license or for interim executive roles.
  • Certifications Verification:
    • National certification verification for CT Technologist required within 30 days of start and updated annually.
    • State license verification required within 30 days of start; active Louisiana or Compact license required.
    • NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start.
  • Competency Exams: Specialty-specific competency exam required annually (minimum 80%).
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Required except for ICU specialties; must be renewed annually.
  • Color Blind Testing: Required annually for all lab staff.

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Required within 12 months of start, indicating good physical health.
  • Fit Mask Testing: Annual fit testing required; can be completed onsite if needed.
  • Immunizations / Titers: Must provide proof of:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap required for ED, Pediatrics, Mother/Baby, NICU).
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; additional documentation if positive.
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella immunity via titer or vaccine series.
    • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or declination signed within 1 year.
    • Varicella immunity via titer or vaccine series.
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start; must be initiated within 24-48 hours of offer acceptance.
  • Flu Vaccination: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30) with vaccine, declination, or medical/religious exemption.

Additional Notes

  • Resume/application and skills checklist (updated annually) required.
  • Must provide 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps.
  • Candidate must be able to work onsite and comply with facility-specific emergency preparedness during hurricane season (June 1 - Nov 30).
  • Backfill assignment for 13 weeks ending approximately January 3.

This position requires a highly experienced CT Technologist with strong flexibility across multiple care settings and compliance with rigorous credentialing and health requirements.
