Description
Travel RN Opportunity – Telemetry Unit (Austin, TX)
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry Unit (4 Central)
- Location: Austin, Texas
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- On-Call: No on-call required
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
Unit Information
- Unit: 4 Central Telemetry
- Number of Beds: 32 private rooms
- Staffing (Day & Night Shift): Charge nurse, 7 RNs, 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Unit Clerk
- Patient Ratios: 5:1
- Equipment: GE Telemetry, Pyxis, Welch Allen Vital Sign Monitors, GE B450 Bedside Monitor
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Required Skills & Experience
- Must Have:
- Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation
- Respiratory experience including advanced airways and oxygen management
- Experience with cardiac drips (not titrated)
- Preferred:
- ACLS/ALS certification
Typical Procedures on Unit
- Stress tests
- Heart catheterization (Heart Cath)
- Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
- Paracentesis
- Thoracentesis
- Chest tube management
Certifications & Licenses Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Certification
- Registered Nurse License (valid in Texas)
Additional Information
- Floating Areas: Med Surg, Med Surg Telemetry, Emergency Department holding for this level of care
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
