Travel RN - Telemetry Unit (3 South) - Austin, Texas
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry
- Location: Austin, Texas
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- On Call: No on-call required
- Schedule: Every other weekend
Unit Information
- Unit: 3 South Telemetry
- Number of Beds: 34 private rooms
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: Charge nurse, 7 RNs, 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Unit Clerk
- Night Shift: Charge nurse, 7 RNs, 3 PCTs
- Patient Ratios: 5:1
- Equipment: GE Telemetry, Pyxis, Welch Allen Vital Sign Monitors
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Required Skills and Experience
- Must Have:
- Telemetry experience
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Respiratory experience including advanced airways and oxygen management
- Experience with cardiac drips (not titrated)
- Preferred:
- ACLS/ALS certification
Typical Procedures on Unit
- Stress tests
- Heart catheterization (Heart Cath)
- Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG)
- Paracentesis
- Thoracentesis
- Chest tube management
Certifications and Licenses Required
- Registered Nurse License
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Certification
Additional Information
- Floating Areas: Med Surg, Med Surg Telemetry, Emergency Department holding for this level of care
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs
