MedSurg 5S Nurse Opportunity

Location: Savannah, Georgia

Job Details

  • Specialty: MedSurg 5S
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Unit: MedSurg 5th Floor
  • Patient Types: Med-Surg, Sickle Cell, Heart Failure, Vascular, Pulmonary, Diabetes, Failure to Thrive, and more
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
  • Nurse Aide Ratio: 1:12
  • Charge Nurse: Yes, charge nurse takes assignments
  • Respiratory Therapy Equipment: Nasal cannula, face masks, BiPAP

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent MedSurg experience required
  • Travel Experience: At least 1 previous travel assignment strongly preferred
  • Certifications: BLS required
  • MedSurg Skills: Candidate profile should focus exclusively on MedSurg skills (no heavy tele or stepdown experience)
  • Geographic: Must be within 100 mile radius

Scheduling & Shifts

  • Shift Length: 12-hour day shifts
  • Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 12 weeks (weekends are Saturday and Sunday; shifts may not be consecutive)
  • Holiday Requirement: Yes
  • Call/Standby: No
  • Floating: No
  • Blocked Scheduling: Not guaranteed

Orientation

  • One day computer skills training with basic knowledge assessment test
  • Two shifts orientation with preceptor

Dress Code

  • Navy scrubs required
