Job Opportunity: CT and Diagnostic Radiology Technologist (Contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Determine appropriate radiographic techniques and position patients using immobilization and support devices to ensure optimal image quality.
• Position patients and adjust equipment tactfully and courteously.
• Select radiographic techniques based on anatomy and patient condition to obtain quality diagnostic images.
• Collect patient history relevant to the prescribed test for Radiologist review.
• Competently position patients for all exams and problem-solve physical limitations during positioning.
• Follow scanning protocols as directed by Radiologists.
• Review images to determine if additional views are necessary.
• Adjust technical imaging factors as needed.
• Identify and troubleshoot artifacts on images.
• Minimize repeat imaging.
• Maintain annual competencies.
• Communicate normal and abnormal anatomy findings effectively to Radiologists.
• Evaluate CT orders for appropriateness using ACR Appropriateness Criteria.

Modalities

• Operate equipment competently in at least two modalities: CT and Digital X-ray.

Operations, Equipment, and Safety

• Operate all imaging equipment competently.
• Modify technical factors as required by the situation.
• Perform start-up and shut-down procedures on all equipment.
• Ensure images are correctly labeled and marked.
• Inspect equipment daily during use.
• Report equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Perform problem-solving related to equipment issues and physical limitations.
• Handle all equipment with care.
• Comply with all radiation safety procedures and document patient care according to departmental standards.

Preferred Experience

• CT Toshiba experience preferred
