Travel RN Opportunity - Progressive Care Unit
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Unit: Progressive Care Unit (44 beds)
Unit Details
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 2 CNC/Charge Nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, 1 HUC
- Night Shift: 2 CNC/Charge Nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, 1 HUC
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1, stretched to 5:1
- Equipment Used: IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pump, Chest tubes, Trachs, Patient lifts
- EMR System: Cerner
Required Skills & Experience
- Must Have:
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications
- Neuro and Trauma Care experience
- Preferred:
- Additional Neuro and Trauma Care experience
Typical Procedures
- Neuro and spinal checks
- C-Collar placement, TLSO braces
- Chest tube management
- PCA pump operation
- IV infusions
- Lumbar drain care
- Feeding tube placement
- Blood transfusions
Work Environment & Culture
- Personality Fit: Team player, patient-focused
- Floating Areas: Stepdown units, Med-surg units
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
- Schedule: Every other weekend required; on-call as needed
Contract Length
- 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Licensure & Certifications
- Registered Nurse License required
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required
