Description
Job Opportunity: Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - Nights
Location: Moab, Utah
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Temporary night shift position (6 PM to 6 AM) with an anticipated schedule of 7 days on, 7 days off.
- Work in a rural medical-surgical department providing direct and indirect patient care across a wide range of patient ages and acuities, including medical, surgical, high acuity, rehabilitative, skilled, pediatric, and post-partum neonates to geriatrics.
- Opportunities to expand skills in post-partum care, infusion, wound therapies, and cross-train in Emergency Department and/or PACU.
- Level 4 Trauma facility.
- Blue scrubs preferred.
- Recognized holidays include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered RN license in Utah or a compact state.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- 1-2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience required (use 2 years as the higher requirement).
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS and PALS certifications or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
- Must be willing to earn NRP certification and provide patient care appropriate to certification within one year of hire.
- Knowledge of infection control principles, patient safety techniques, and prevention of adverse medication/treatment reactions.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to maintain composure in rapidly changing situations.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, listening).
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and manage stressful situations professionally.
- Reliable and punctual with work schedule.
- Flexibility and willingness to accept additional duties as assigned.

- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Full-time, benefitted position with a non-exempt status.
- Work week defined as Sunday 12:01 AM through Saturday 11:59 PM.
- Drug-free workplace with pre-employment drug test and background check required.
