Travel RN Opportunity - Richmond, Virginia
Position Details

Unit Information
- Unit: Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU)
- Number of Beds: 18
- Staffing: 38 total staff
- Day Shift: 5 RNs, 1 Critical Care (CC), 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCT)
- Night Shift: 5 nurses, 1 PCT
- Patient Ratios: 4:1
- Equipment Used: Central lines, PCA pumps, Foley catheters, chest tubes, pacer wires, telemetry, drains
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Required Skills
- Must be able to read cardiac monitors
- Must be able to administer narcotics
Preferred Skills
- Stepdown unit experience
- Cardiac knowledge
Typical Procedures on Unit
- CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft)
- Valve replacement
- TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
- Mitral clip procedures
- Thoracotomy
- Management of Afib, CHF, MI
- Cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, nitro
Certifications & Licenses Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIH Certification
- Registered Nurse License
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in the specialty
Work Environment & Policies
- Floating Areas: Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units
- Dress Code: All navy scrubs
- Vital signs and assessments every 4 hours
- Rhythm interpretation every 4 hours
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend required, overtime available
