Travel RN Opportunity - Richmond, Virginia

Unit Information

  • Unit: Maternal Infant Unit (MIU)
  • Location: 3rd Floor, Atrium Building
  • Number of Beds: 24
  • Number of Staff: 71
  • Shift Types and Staff Roles:
    • Day Shift: labor nurse, nursery nurse, OB tech, secretary, leadership, educator
    • Night Shift: labor nurse, nursery nurse, OB tech, secretary
  • Patient Ratios:
    • Labor: 1:1 (most of the time)
    • Post-partum: 5-6:1
    • Nursery: 5-6:1
  • Equipment: GE fetal monitors
  • EMR Systems: Meditech, CPN

Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery focus
  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Required Experience: Minimum 2 years of labor experience
  • Preferred Experience: 2+ years labor experience in LDRP with high birth volumes
  • Typical Procedures: Vaginal deliveries, C-sections, antepartum care, newborn and post-partum care

Certifications & Licenses Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
  • Registered Nurse License

Additional Information

  • Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs; MIU nurses wear pink badges for infant security
  • Schedule: Every third weekend on call with 12 hours of call per 4-week schedule
