Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU/PCU)

Contract Length: Up to 52 weeks (13 weeks minimum)
Job Details
- Start Date: ASAP preferred
- Schedule: 3x12 hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
- Holiday Requirement: Yes, including no Christmas time off approved
- Units: ICU and PCU (Resource Pool RN floating between all ICU and PCU units as needed, potentially every 4 hours)
- Patient Ratios:
- ICU: 2:1
- PCU: 5:1
- Experience Required:
- Large Level 1/Level 2 ICU experience required
- Must be comfortable working all ICU and PCU units
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Electronic Medical Record: EPIC experience required
Experience Requirements
- Years of Specialty Experience: Large L1/L2 ICU experience required (implies significant ICU experience; no explicit years stated, but expect at least 2+ years)

Licensing & Documentation Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse license for Virginia
- I-9 or attestation required
- Driver’s License/State ID required within 48 hours of signing; must be from an address more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify for travel assignment
- Background check: 7-year history required within 1 year of start
- E-Verify or attestation required
- Education verification of highest earned degree required
- NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, free from communicable diseases
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Flu vaccination or declination form required during flu season
Additional Requirements
- Must submit all requested time-off requests upfront; no Christmas time off approved
- Photo for badge required (professional photo with plain background)
- Fit testing for masks required within 1 year and updated annually
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required prior to start
- References: 2 clinical references required
- Complete employment application/resume required

Notes on Local Traveler Eligibility
- If the candidate’s driver’s license address is within 0-99.9 miles of the facility, only one 13-week assignment is allowed with no extension
- Local travelers have different pay rules (not included here)
This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs comfortable with flexible floating assignments across ICU and PCU units, with strong critical care skills and EPIC EMR proficiency.
