Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Specialty: Registered Nurse (PCU)

Contract Length: Up to 52 weeks (flexible; traveler may request between 14-52 weeks)
Job Details
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU), exact unit determined by facility need after clinical evaluation
- Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM)
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: Currently 1:5 (goal is 1:4)
- Floating: All travelers expected to float as needed within their acuity level
- Start date: Flexible
Required Certifications & Skills
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- EPIC experience required
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC)
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (PCU)
- Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard RN experience for PCU roles (minimum 1-2 years recommended)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I9 or attestation
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID (must be within 100 miles of facility)

- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification: Highest earned degree verification required
- Transcript/Diploma required for PCU
- State License primary source verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification for RNs within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year, free from communicable diseases
- Fit test within 1 year, updated annually (not required for students)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Required immunizations or titers: Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Flu vaccination or mask/declination form during flu season
- 2 clinical references required
- Completed employment application/resume
- Annual skills checklist update required
Additional Notes
- Candidates must provide a professional photo for badge issuance
- Orientation manual review required prior to start (not required for inpatient RNs)
- Some units may require additional certifications such as CPI for Behavioral Health
- VA State Police Search completed onsite for certain candidates (home health/hospice)
- Floating within acuity expected
