Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist
Location: Lafayette, Indiana
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Job Details
- Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- Call Requirements: 10 shifts per month including weekend call
- Weekend Requirements: Every 3rd or 4th weekend
- Holiday Requirements: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Guaranteed Hours:
- 8 and 10 hour shifts: 40 hours/week
- 3 twelve-hour shifts: 36 hours/week
- 4 twelve-hour shifts: 48 hours/week
- First Timers Accepted: Yes
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending State License: Accepted if application is submitted
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Current Indiana State Department of Health Radiology Technologist license
- ARRT (R) certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Knowledge of sterile technique and supplies used during special exams
- Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise patient positioning
- May require advanced credential in interventional radiology (if applicable)
Experience Requirements
- Years of Specialty Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum experience expected for IR Tech role (typically 1+ years)

Job Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic radiographic procedures for radiological diagnosis
- Work with patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations
- Follow physician instructions and prepare/operate equipment
- Position patients correctly to obtain requested diagnostic images
- Treat patients with care and respect
- May be required to scrub into procedures as needed

Additional Requirements and Notes
- Must complete various background checks including criminal, education verification, and federal exclusions within specified timeframes
- Required health documents include:
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific respirators approved)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Immunizations or proof of immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
- Must complete facility-specific compliance and orientation documents prior to start
- Minimum of 2 professional references required from recent employment (within 2 years)
- Skills checklist and competency exams required annually
Important Notes
- IU Health will not allow Indiana RNs to work at their facilities after 11/30/2024, except for Periop/OR RN’s, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers (this does not affect IR Techs)
- Open to discussing block scheduling accommodations
